Why This Subject?
My inspiration to create this blog comes from a celebrity whom first founded a charity in the mid-1990s at a tender age of 18 years old after reading and watching her interviews in 2008 (Sigh! 10 years late). Her commitment to fulfill the goal of serving all her people at such a young age is extremely commendable and cannot be discounted.
One of the charities she founded is named Pies Descalzos Foundation (Bare Feet Foundation) after her third album Pies Descalzos. Contributions made to Pies Descalzos Foundation provide the critical funds to develop schools in her motherland, Columbia, where displaced children can receive the necessary education and food. She strongly believes that education of children is the prime key to resolve several of the social unrest, violence, and conflicts in her country as well as others.
Her name is Shakira in which I’m sure is quite a household name already. Being a celebrity, she hopes to use this privilege to educate the public into understanding the social and moral issues in this world, and how we can all help to change for the better.
In response to her mission for world peace, I would like to take this opportunity to dedicate this site to her and at the same time I invite you to join us in examining the social crisis that we are currently experiencing on a global basis hoping that any data derived at this site can be put in use for the good of mankind.
